Beyonder has developed a patented highly transformative and sustainable “activated carbon production technology” to be used commercially in producing the next generation of supercapacitors and Li-ion capacitors. Om stillingen

The process engineer is accountable for the planning, organization, and implementation of pouch cell assembly process. The position exists to develop the process, control and optimize equipment and tooling in the pouch cell assembly line. These include but are not limited to stacking, welding, assembly, and electrolyte filling processes, at Beyonder AS.

Position will also assist in specification updates and modification, machine setup, preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, and overall manufacturing support.


  • Planning:

  • Project and development planning
  • Assist in the definition of new project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Be involved in technical strategic planning to meet company’s goals
  • Project management:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Develop detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Create and maintain project documentation
  • Implement operational best practices
  • Operation:

  • Upscaling and production of pouch cells according to the procedures developed by cell design engineer;
  • Analyzing and optimizing production processes to maximize performance, safety, and quality;
  • Work together with cell design engineer to optimize cell assembly procedure and process;
  • Support and troubleshoot daily cell assembly to improve the cell productivity;
  • Operate cell assembly equipment and assemble cells if needed;
  • Participate in cross-functional team supporting upscaling and manufacturing of pouch cells;
  • Train and educate junior employee; Other related work required from Beyonder.

Kompetanse / Formell bakgrunn

  • Education:

  • Master in the field of chemical engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering or related.
  • Experience:

  • 3+ years in cell production and extensively hand-on experience on pouch cell assembly process, equipment, and tooling.
  • Computer Knowledge:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and suitable diagnostics software.
  • Languages:

  • Good communication oral and writing skills. Working language is English.
  • Preferably (willingness to learn) Norwegian for collaboration.
  • Other:

  • The position is subject to the company's current HSE and ethical guidelines.
