BEYONDER is a Norwegian energy tech company that has developed the next generation of sustainable Li-ion capacitors and supercapacitors for the heavy-duty industry sector.

Beyonder has developed a patented highly transformative and sustainable “activated carbon production technology” to be used commercially in producing the next generation of supercapacitors and Li-ion capacitors. These products are designed to solve crucial customer problems within selected industries such as: Renewable energy grids, transportation, and offshore energy infrastructure.

Om stillingen

The development engineer is accountable for the development, evaluation, and upscaling of various pre-lithiation process at Beyonder AS.

The position exists to evaluate different pre-lithiation methods, develop new pre-lithiation method, pre-lithiation process and equipment optimization.

Ansvarsområder

  • Planning:

  • Project and development planning
  • Assist in the definition of new project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Be involved in technical strategic planning to meet company’s goals
  • Project management:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Develop detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Create and maintain project documentation
  • Implement operational best practices
  • Operation:

  • Mature Beyonder pre-lithiation process; develop novel pre-lithiation process;
  • Evaluate the pre-lithiation method with different anode, cathode and electrolyte combinations; Upscaling of the developed pre-lithiation process;
  • Optimize and evaluate the pre-lithiation conditions and degree on the electrochemical performance of cell; Communicate the results with the rest team and use these results for further product development;
  • Cooperate with electrode development engineer to provide suggestions on formulation and process optimization;
  • Work together with cell design engineer to optimize cell assembly procedure and process;
  • Participate in cross-functional team supporting upscaling and manufacturing of pouch cells;
  • Train and educate junior employee; Other related work required from Beyonder.

Kompetanse / Formell bakgrunn

  • Education:

  • Master in the field of chemistry, material chemistry, electrochemistry, chemical engineering, material science or related.
  • Experience:

  • 3+ years in research and development of lithium metal foil processing and pre-lithiation. Good knowledge on safely handling of lithium metal.
  • Computer Knowledge:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and suitable diagnostics software.
  • Languages:

  • Good communication oral and writing skills. Working language is English.
  • Preferably (willingness to learn) Norwegian for collaboration.
  • Other:

  • The position is subject to the company's current HSE and ethical guidelines.
